Okay, so, the other day I was trying to figure out this crossword puzzle, right? And the clue was “longtime LA sports venue nyt”. I was like, “What could this be?” I mean, I’m not a huge sports buff, but I know a thing or two about LA.
First, I grabbed my phone and started Googling. Typed in “longtime LA sports venue” and scrolled through a bunch of stuff. Found some articles about a place called the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Apparently, it’s been around since, like, 1923! That’s pretty old, even I know that. It’s hosted a bunch of big games and famous athletes. Sounds impressive.
But then, I kept digging because I wasn’t sure if that was the answer they were looking for in the crossword.
More Digging
- I noticed a lot of mentions about the NYT Crossword, so I figured that was the puzzle I was working on.
- Saw some websites that specifically help people with crossword clues.
- Found one that had the answer for “longtime LA sports venue” listed as STAPLESCENTER.
STAPLESCENTER, huh? I recognized that name. It’s that big arena where the Lakers and Clippers play, right? Makes sense, it’s definitely a longtime venue, though I think they changed the name recently. Anyway, I plugged that into the crossword, and it fit perfectly! Thirteen letters, just what I needed.
So yeah, that’s how I figured out the answer. It was a bit of a journey, but hey, I learned something new about LA sports venues along the way. Who knew crossword puzzles could be so educational? Not a bad way to kill some time, I guess.
