Hey everyone, so today I want to talk about something I’ve been digging into lately – the world of WWE and its classic superstars. I gotta say, it’s been a wild ride revisiting these larger-than-life characters who defined wrestling for so many of us.
First off, I grabbed this book called “The Ultimate Superstar Guide.” It’s packed with illustrations, over 200 of them, of all these iconic wrestlers. Flipping through the pages, I got hit with a massive wave of nostalgia. I mean, we’re talking about legends like Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Andre the Giant – the whole gang’s in there.
I started with Hulk Hogan, of course. His whole persona was just insane, right? He was a major reason why wrestling became so huge. I read that he won the WWE Championship six times! Plus, he had those epic battles with guys like Roddy Piper and Randy Savage. It was cool to see his picture in the book and remember all those crazy matches.
Then there was Andre the Giant. Seeing his illustration just reminded me how massive that dude was. He was a true spectacle in the ring. And The Rock? Come on, the charisma just oozes off the page. It’s no wonder he became such a megastar in and out of the ring.
I also found out about this company, Jakks Pacific. They made a ton of WWE toys and action figures back in the day, including the Classic Superstars line. Apparently, they had the WWE license from the late ’90s to 2009. That’s a pretty long run, so they must have been doing something right. Their most famous products are Classic Superstars, TitanTron Live and Ruthless Aggression.
- I went down a rabbit hole of old wrestling videos on the internet, watching some of these classic matches. Man, the energy in those arenas was electric. It really took me back to when I was a kid, glued to the TV on Saturday mornings.
- I even tried to find some of those old Jakks Pacific figures online. Some of them are going for crazy prices now! It’s like a whole collector’s market out there.

I even spent time learning about how to level up Superstars in a WWE game. You go to your Roster, pick the one you want, and if they’re not maxed out, you can boost them up.
Then I stumbled upon some info about what it takes to actually become a WWE superstar these days. It’s no joke! You gotta be over 18, have an athletic background, and then go through tryouts and training at the WWE Performance Center. It’s a whole process just to get a shot at the big leagues.
Getting into WWE
This whole thing got me thinking, maybe I should try out? Haha, just kidding. But seriously, it’s a tough path, and it made me appreciate these wrestlers even more. They put their bodies on the line for our entertainment, and that’s pretty awesome. Anyway, this has been my little journey into the world of classic WWE superstars. It’s been fun, nostalgic, and a little bit eye-opening. If you’re a wrestling fan, I definitely recommend checking out that “Ultimate Superstar Guide” and maybe even digging up some old matches. You won’t regret it!
