Alright, guys, let’s talk about something I’ve been messing around with lately: finding a solid army composition for Town Hall 9 in Clash of Clans. I’ve tried a bunch of different things, and I think I’ve finally landed on something that works pretty consistently.

So, I started out like everyone else, just throwing random troops together. You know, a few giants here, some wizards there, maybe a couple of healers. It was a mess! I’d win some, lose some, mostly lose, to be honest. It was super frustrating, and I was getting raided all the time, losing all my precious resources.
Then, I started doing some research – you know, watching YouTube videos, reading some guides. I realized I needed a strategy, not just a bunch of random dudes running around.
I experimented with GoWiPe for a while. You know, Golems, Wizards, and P.E.K.*. It’s a strong army, for sure, but it felt a little slow and clunky for me. And it was expensive! My elixir reserves were constantly drained.
- 2 golems
- 1 pekka
- 4 wall breakers
- 17 wizzards
- 3 archer
- 2 rage 1 heal 1 poison
After that, I fiddled around with LavaLoonion. Lava Hounds, Balloons, and Minions. It’s fun to watch those balloons crush defenses, but it’s also pretty tricky to get the hang of. I kept messing up the timing, and my Lava Hounds would just get shredded before the balloons could do their thing.
- 3 lava
- 22 baloon
- 20 minimus
- 3 rage 1 heal 1 poison
Finally, I landed on my current go-to army. It’s a modified version of GoWiPe, but with a few key tweaks that make it, in my opinion, much more effective. I *’s reliable, it’s relatively cheap, and it’s fun to use!

My Current TH9 Go-To Army:
- Golems: 1, these guys are the core.
- Wizards: 9, they do bulk damge.
- Hog Riders: 15, those are good for clear building.
- Wall Breakers: 6 ,cause you wanna break into.
- Archers: 5, good for clean up.
- Spells: 2 Heal Spells, 1 Rage Spell, 1 Poison Spell.
I start by laying down my Golem to tank the defenses. and, the Wizards do damage from long-range. Then, when the time is right, I send in the rest. Finally, I drop my Archers for cleanup, picking off any remaining buildings. The spells are crucial, of course. I use the Heal Spells to keep my troops alive.
It took a lot of trial and error, a lot of wasted resources, and a lot of frustrating defeats, but I finally feel like I’ve got a handle on TH9 attacks. Keep practicing, keep tweaking, and you’ll find what works best for you!
