Alright, guys, let’s talk about getting that god roll Eye of Sol for PvP in Destiny 2. I’ve been grinding for this thing for a while, and I finally landed a roll that I’m pretty happy with, so I figured I’d share my journey and what I learned along the way.

The Hunt Begins
First things first, I needed to figure out how to even get the Eye of Sol. It’s a Trials of Osiris weapon, so that means heading into that sweaty playlist. I’m not the best PvP player, but I can hold my own. I started by just playing Trials, focusing on getting those engrams and hoping for a drop.
I ran Trials for like, I don’t even know, countless weekends. I joined some random groups, played with friends, got stomped, did some stomping myself… It was a rollercoaster, man. I got a few Eye of Sols to drop, but none of them were anything special.
The Perks I’m After
I knew I wanted something that would help with consistency and handling. So, I was on the lookout for perks like:
- Snapshot Sights: Makes aiming down sights way faster. Super important for those quick reactions.
- Opening Shot: Boosts accuracy and range on the first shot. Helps you land that crucial headshot.
- Moving Target: Increased movement speed and target acquisition while aiming. Gotta stay nimble!
- Firmly Planted: Increased accuracy and stability when crouched.
I Also was think about the barrel and magazine. I was thinking:
- Fluted Barrel: For the handling.
- Accurized Rounds: To help with range.
The Grind Continues
After many, many Trials matches, and a whole bunch of disappointments, I finally got a roll that was pretty close to what I wanted. It had Snapshot Sights and Opening Shot, along with Fluted Barrel and Accurized Rounds, It was a solid start.

Then, I started really paying attention to my playstyle. I noticed I was crouching a lot to get the drop on people, so I started thinking maybe Firmly Planted could be useful. It can be really useful when I can master it.
Finally Get The God Roll!
I kept playing, kept grinding, and finally, after what felt like forever, BAM! I got it. An Eye of Sol with:
- Fluted Barrel
- Accurized Rounds
- Snapshot Sights
- Opening Shot
I was hyped! I took it into some regular Crucible matches to test it out, and man, it felt good. Those quick scopes were snappy, and that first shot accuracy was definitely noticeable. I was landing headshots I probably shouldn’t have been, haha.
My Advice
My biggest takeaway from this whole experience? Persistence is key. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t get the god roll right away. Just keep playing, keep experimenting, and keep refining your playstyle. And don’t be afraid to try out different perk combinations. You might be surprised at what works best for you.
Also, team up with some friends or find a good group. Trials can be brutal solo, so having some reliable teammates makes a huge difference.

Good luck out there, Guardians! May your drops be blessed, and your aim be true.
