Okay, guys, let’s talk about my little adventure trying to snag some deals during the “big sale” in Escape from Tarkov.

So, I heard about this sale, right? Everyone was buzzing about it on Reddit and the forums. I’d been eyeing a few things – mostly better containers and maybe some high-tier ammo – and I figured, “Hey, why not? It’s a sale!” I’d been saving up my Roubles for a while, so I was feeling pretty good, pretty confident.
The Prep Work (or Lack Thereof)
First thing I did was, well, not much. I didn’t really “prep.” I just kinda jumped in. I checked the time the sale was supposed to start – I think it was like, 9 AM my time? – and set an alarm. I figured I’d just log in and see what was up. My big plan? Hit up the Flea Market and see what the damage was. I had a mental list of stuff I wanted, but nothing concrete. You know, just going with the flow.
Into the Fray
So, the alarm goes off. I stumble out of bed, grab a coffee (essential for any serious Tarkov session, obviously), and fire up the game. Logged in, no problem. Head straight to the Flea Market. And… chaos. Absolute, utter chaos.
Everything was lagging like crazy. I mean, really lagging. I’d click on something, and it would take, like, a full minute to load. Sometimes it wouldn’t even load at all. I’d just get that spinning circle of doom. I managed to filter for a few items I wanted – specifically, a new secure container – and it was just a wall of listings, most of them already sold, obviously. The prices were… fluctuating, to say the least. One second it’s one price, the next it’s completely different.
- Attempt 1: Tried to snipe a decent-priced container. Clicked “buy”… waited… waited some more… “Transaction Error.” Classic.
- Attempt 2: Found another one. Slightly more expensive, but I was getting desperate. Clicked “buy”… same thing. “Transaction Error.”
- Attempt 3: Refreshed the page like a madman. Saw a container pop up, super cheap! Clicked “buy” faster than I’ve ever clicked anything in my life… “Transaction Error.” I almost threw my mouse across the room.
Giving Up (Temporarily)
After about an hour of this, I was ready to give up. My coffee was cold, my head hurt, and my Roubles were exactly where they started. I figured, “Okay, maybe the Flea Market is just too crazy right now. Let’s check the Traders.”

The Traders were… a little better. Less lag, at least. But the prices weren’t exactly mind-blowing. I mean, they were okay, but nothing like the crazy discounts I was hoping for. I ended up grabbing some ammo from Prapor, since it was a little cheaper than usual, but that was about it.
Final Thoughts
Honestly? The whole thing was a bit of a bust. Maybe I just had bad luck, or maybe my internet was being extra terrible that day. Or maybe everyone else was just faster than me. I don’t know. I ended up with some slightly cheaper ammo and a whole lot of frustration. I guess that’s Tarkov for you, right? It’s always a gamble. Will I try again next time there’s a big sale? Probably. Am I going to get my hopes up? Absolutely not.
It is always exciting when there is something to do and try out.
