Alright, so I wanted to figure out when Grigor Dimitrov is playing his next match. It’s something I do pretty often when I’m following a player through a tournament or just curious about their schedule.

First thing I did, naturally, was just open up my browser. You know how it is, you just type it straight in. Something like “Grigor Dimitrov next match” or “Dimitrov schedule tennis”. Simple stuff.
Usually, a bunch of results pop up right away. You get the official ATP Tour site, maybe the site for the tournament he’s currently playing in, and then a load of sports news sites like ESPN, BBC Sport, Eurosport, that kind of thing. Sometimes even betting sites, but I tend to skip those for just schedule info.
Checking the Official Sources
My go-to is usually the ATP Tour official website first. They have player profiles and usually list upcoming matches once the draw is out and the schedule is made. So, I clicked on that.
- I looked for the ‘Players’ section or just used their search bar for Dimitrov.
- Once on his profile page, I scanned for sections like ‘Schedule’, ‘Results’, or ‘Next Match’.
- Sometimes, if he’s actively in a tournament, there’s a direct link to the tournament page right there.
If he was in a specific tournament, say, the Italian Open or whatever, I’d often go directly to that tournament’s own website too. They usually have a ‘Schedule’ or ‘Order of Play’ section updated daily. This is super useful, especially for when on a particular day he might play, and on which court.
Looking at News and Score Apps
If the official sites were a bit slow to update or unclear, my next step was checking major sports news outlets. They often have articles previewing matches or sections dedicated to tennis results and schedules. I just browsed their tennis sections.

I also use a couple of sports score apps on my phone. Apps like Flashscore or LiveScore are pretty good. I searched for Dimitrov within the app, and they usually show past results and upcoming fixtures if they’re scheduled. This is often the quickest way during a tournament week.
Putting it Together
Finding the actual match details involves a few steps:
- Confirm which tournament he’s playing (or playing next).
- Check the tournament draw to see his potential path and opponent.
- Look for the daily ‘Order of Play’ once it’s released (usually the evening before the match day).
Sometimes the schedule isn’t out until the day before, especially for later rounds, so you gotta be a bit patient. I just kept checking back on the official tournament site or my favourite score app. Eventually, the info popped up – opponent confirmed, time set, court assigned. Job done. Just a matter of checking the usual places and sometimes waiting for the organisers to post the schedule.
