Okay, so I needed to figure out the Tulane football depth chart the other day. Wasn’t anything super official, just wanted to get a feel for the two-deep before their next game. You know how it is, sometimes you just wanna see who’s lining up where.

My Search Kinda Started Messy
First thing I did, like most folks I guess, was just punch it into a search engine. Typed things like:
- tulane football depth chart
- green wave depth chart
- tulane two deep
Got a whole lot of results back, naturally. Lots of sports news sites, fan forums, that kind of stuff. Some looked promising, but you click ’em and they’re either from last season, or just someone’s best guess on a message board. Not really what I was after. I wanted something a bit more solid, you know?
Digging on the Official Site
So, I figured, let’s go straight to the source. Headed over to the Tulane athletics official website. Navigated my way to the football section. They’ve got the roster, schedule, news… all the standard stuff. I poked around the roster page first, thinking maybe they list starters or backups there. Nope. Just the list of players, which is useful, but not the chart I needed.
Then I checked the ‘News’ or ‘Press Releases’ section. Sometimes they put out articles previewing the game, and maybe, just maybe, they’d mention the depth chart or link to it. Scrolled through a few recent posts. Found game previews, player interviews, but no clear depth chart listed outright.
The Usual Hiding Spot
I remembered from looking up other teams, sometimes the real deal is buried in the weekly game notes. You know, those big PDF documents the media relations folks put out before each game? They’re mostly for reporters, filled with stats, history, and usually, somewhere in there, is the depth chart for the upcoming game.

So, back on the athletics site, I looked specifically for a ‘Media’ section or links related to ‘Game Notes’. Found it! Downloaded the PDF for the upcoming matchup. It took a little scrolling, past all the stats and player bios, but bam! There it was. Usually tucked away a few pages in.
It listed the starters and the main backups for each position. Exactly what I was looking for. It’s almost always the most reliable source, especially closer to game day, because it comes straight from the team.
So yeah, it wasn’t just handed to me on the front page. Took a little bit of digging around the official site, skipping past the fan guesses, and knowing to look inside those game notes PDFs. But got there in the end. Just gotta know where they usually stash it.
