Alright, let’s talk about this Anthony Belton fella and the NFL draft, ya hear? I ain’t no expert, mind you, just an old woman with some thoughts. This here Belton kid, plays tackle, they say. Big fella, I reckon. North Carolina State, that’s where he’s at now.
Now, they’re sayin’ he ain’t exactly a big shot yet, not a name everybody knows. But come next April, when that draft rolls around, they think he’ll be somebody. Plug-and-play tackle, they call it. Means he’s good enough to jump right in and play, no messing around. That’s what they say, anyhow.
I saw somethin’ about him playin’ against Clemson. Seems like that game didn’t go so well for him. Hurt his chances in the draft, maybe. Folks get picky about that stuff, ya know. One bad game and they start lookin’ at you sideways.
- He plays tackle.
- He goes to North Carolina State University.
- He played against Clemson, and it wasn’t good.
This here NFL draft, it’s a whole to-do. They pick players based on how bad their teams did last year. Worst team picks first, best team picks last. Super Bowl champs, they get the last pick. Makes sense, I guess. If you won the Super Bowl, you probably don’t need as much help.
They didn’t have no first-round pick from NC State this year, but they had a couple of fellas picked later on. Next year, though, they’re sayin’ Belton might be a first-rounder. That’d be somethin’, wouldn’t it? A boy from NC State goin’ high in the draft.
I don’t know much about this Danny Dimes fella, but they mentioned him when they was talkin’ about the draft order. Seems like he’s a quarterback, not a tackle like Belton. Born in ‘97, they say. Young whippersnapper.
This Belton kid, he’s got potential, they say. But potential ain’t everything. You gotta go out there and prove yourself. One bad game against Clemson, that ain’t gonna cut it. He’s gotta show them scouts he’s the real deal. He’s gotta be tough, gotta be strong, gotta be smart.
I tell ya, these football fellas, they work hard. Runnin’ and jumpin’ and hittin’ each other. It ain’t easy, that’s for sure. And this draft, it’s a big deal for them. It’s their chance to make it to the big leagues, to make some money, to make a name for themselves. So, I hope this Belton kid, he does good. I hope he makes it. He seems like a good boy, from what I hear. Works hard, keeps his nose clean. That’s what you gotta do in this world, ya hear? Work hard and keep your nose clean.
Anyways, that’s my two cents on this Anthony Belton and the NFL draft. Like I said, I ain’t no expert. Just an old woman with an opinion. But I reckon he’s got a shot. He just gotta go out there and take it. Show them what he’s made of. And maybe, just maybe, he’ll be a star someday. Who knows? That’s the thing about life, ya know? You never know what’s gonna happen. Just gotta keep on keepin’ on, and see where it takes ya.
So good luck to ya, Anthony Belton. Go out there and make us proud. And don’t forget where you came from, ya hear?
