Okay, so I’ve been following the MLB draft pretty closely, especially since I’m a huge Braves fan. I wanted to keep track of all their picks for 2023, so I figured, why not make it a whole thing? Here’s how I went about it.

Getting Started
First, I needed a place to, you know, actually find the picks. The official MLB site is usually pretty good, but I also checked out some Braves-specific blogs and fan forums. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything, you know?
Compiling the list
Once I felt like I had a good handle on where to look, I started a simple list. I used just a regular * fancy, I thought I may upgrade the text note after I got all the content.
I started adding the names as they were announced. Round by round, pick by pick. It was kinda slow at first, with all the analysis and stuff between picks, but it picked up steam.
Checking and Double-Checking(Detailing)
This is where those extra sites came in handy. I cross-referenced my list with a couple of different sources, just to make absolutely sure I had everyone. Didn’t want to accidentally miss a future star, right?
And for the important picks.I also wrote down some notes beside each name like the Player’s position, and their previous team (mostly college or high school). Make it easier to recognize them.

Sharing My Work(Making it look good)
After it completed, I went back to the list and added the extra * the draft wrapped up, I had this pretty comprehensive list of all the Braves’ 2023 draft picks! I added some bold to make it look better.
- Round 1, Pick 24: Hurston Waldrep, RHP, Florida
- Round 2, Pick 59: Drue Hackenberg, RHP, Virginia Tech
- Round 3, Pick 94: Cade Kuehler, RHP, Campbell
- …And so on, all the way down!
It’s not exactly rocket science, but it felt good to have it all organized. Now I can easily look back and see how these guys progress through the minors. Maybe I’ll even update it as they move up the ranks. Who knows, maybe one of these guys will be the next Acuña! Go Braves!
