My Sunday Morning Headache: Chuba or Roschon?
Okay, so this past week, I found myself staring at my fantasy lineup, like I do most weeks, trying to figure out that last flex spot. It came down to Chuba Hubbard or Roschon Johnson. Man, talk about a coin flip.

First, I looked at Chuba. He’s been getting the work, mostly. The Panthers offense isn’t exactly setting the world on fire, let’s be honest. But volume is king, right? That’s what they always say. He was getting carries, catching a few passes. Seemed like the safer floor. But man, watching the Panthers sometimes… it’s tough. You worry they just stall out completely.
Here’s what was going through my head about Chuba:
- He’s the lead guy, pretty much. Sanders hasn’t taken the job back.
- Gets okay volume, goal-line touches are possible.
- But… that offense is just rough. Can he actually do anything with the touches?
Then there’s Roschon Johnson. Rookie. Bears backfield is a mess, always feels like it. Khalil Herbert is there, Foreman pops up sometimes. But Roschon, he looks good when he gets the ball. He runs hard. Catches it well too. The problem was, how much would he actually play? It felt like more of a gamble. Higher ceiling maybe, if things broke right? But a much lower floor if they decided to lean on Herbert or got behind big.
My thoughts on Roschon:
- Looks like a decent player, passes the eye test.
- Can catch the ball, which is good.
- But… committee backfield. Unpredictable usage. Rookie factor.
Making the Call
So I spent a good hour just mulling it over. Checked the matchups, didn’t see a huge advantage either way. Looked at recent snap counts. Chuba was definitely playing more consistently. Roschon’s usage was more up and down.

In the end, I just went with the guy who I felt was more likely to get touches. Simple as that. Predictability felt more important than chasing a big game that might not happen. So, I plugged in Chuba Hubbard.
Didn’t feel amazing about it, didn’t feel terrible. It was just one of those decisions where you pick the path that seems slightly less risky and hope for the best. Sometimes that’s all you can do with these fringe guys. You make your best guess based on what you know and move on. We’ll see how it pans out, but that was my process this time around.
