Okay, so the other day I was knee-deep in a Baldur’s Gate 3 session, right? Things were getting intense, I was in the middle of a pretty tough fight, and then BAM! My combat UI just vanished. Poof. Gone. I was like, “What the heck just happened?!” I could still move my characters around, but I couldn’t see any of my action buttons, spell slots, or anything. Talk about frustrating!

My Struggle is Real
I tried clicking around randomly, hoping I’d magically hit the right button, but no dice. I was basically fighting blind, and let me tell you, that’s not a fun way to play. I thought maybe it was a one-time glitch, So I was about to give up, and I was losing bad, too.
The “Aha!” Moment
Then,I remembered something I read on a forum some time ago. I hit F5 to quicksave the game, figuring I had nothing to lose at that point. Then, I held my breath and hit F8 to quickload that *…YESSS, there it was. The combat UI was back in all its glory! I actually cheered out loud, my cat looked at me like I was crazy, but I didn’t even care.
So basiclly,F5 is your quicksave, and F8 is your quickload,It’s amazing.
Sharing the Wisdom
- Stumbled into the combat UI disappearing in Baldur’s Gate 3.
- Tried random clicking – big mistake!
- Remembered a forum tip: F5 (quicksave) then F8 (quickload).
- UI magically reappeared! Victory dance!
Seriously, if this happens to you, don’t panic. Just quicksave and quickload. It’s a super easy fix, and you won’t lose any progress. It’s like the game just needs a little nudge to remember where it put all the buttons. I hope this little trick I use all the time now, save someone else from a mid-battle meltdown!
