Okay, so today I wanted to figure something out that’s been bugging me in my fantasy football league: should I start David Njoku or Kyle Pitts? Both tight ends, both with potential, but who’s gonna get me more points this week?

First, I pulled up their stats from the last few games. Just looked at targets, receptions, yards, and touchdowns. Nothing fancy, just the basic stuff to get a feel for how they’ve been doing recently.
Digging a Little Deeper
- I checked out the matchups. Who are they playing this week? Are those defenses good against tight ends? Sometimes a team is terrible at covering tight ends, and that’s a golden opportunity.
Then I went beyond the box scores
watched some highlights.
- Are they getting open?
- Are the quarterbacks looking their way?
- Are they dropping passes?
I wanted to see how involved they are in their offenses.
After that, I scoured the internet for any expert opinions. Fantasy football analysts, injury reports, anything that could give me an edge. Sometimes there’s a little nugget of information, like a player is nursing a minor injury or the coach hinted at a change in strategy.

Finally, I kind of just went with my gut. After all the research, you develop a feel for it. Sometimes it’s hard to explain, but you just have a hunch about who’s going to have a better game.
So, that’s basically my process. Gather the stats, check the matchups, look for expert opinions, and trust my instincts. Hopefully, it leads me to the right decision this week! Wish me luck!
