Today, I wanted to take on the Jeddah circuit in F1 24. This track is known for being super tough, and man, it really is. You gotta be on your toes every second, or you’ll end up kissing a wall, especially in those twisty sectors 2 and 3. I spent a good chunk of time trying to figure out a decent setup.
First, I hopped into a few practice sessions to get a feel for the track. I tried out the default setups, but they just weren’t cutting it. The car felt either too twitchy or too sluggish, and I kept either understeering into the walls or spinning out. Jeddah demands a car that’s responsive, but not so much that it becomes a liability.
Then I started messing around with the settings. I focused a lot on the aerodynamics and suspension. I wanted a good balance between downforce for those fast corners and a setup that wouldn’t punish me too hard if I clipped a kerb. It was a lot of trial and error. I’d tweak something, do a few laps, note how the car felt, and then go back and tweak some more.
After a few hours, I finally landed on something that felt pretty good. Here’s what I ended up with:
- Aerodynamics: I went for a lower downforce setup than usual. This helped me gain some speed on the straights without sacrificing too much grip in the corners.
- Suspension: I opted for a softer suspension to absorb the bumps and kerbs better, making the car more stable.
- Transmission: Adjusted the differential to find a sweet spot between stability on corner exit and responsiveness on turn-in.
- Brakes: I increased the brake pressure for more stopping power, essential for those tight corners.
With this setup, I was able to push the car harder and set some more respectable lap times. My lap wasnt anything special, but hoped this gave a basic understanding of this circuit. The car felt more predictable, and I could attack the corners with more confidence. I still had a few close calls with the walls, but that’s just part of the Jeddah experience. It’s a track that keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time.
Honestly, according to several drivers, this is one of the toughest races on the Formula 1 calendar, and I can see why. But with the right setup, it’s also incredibly rewarding when you nail a lap. I’m still learning, but I’m definitely starting to get the hang of this beast of a track.
