So, I’ve been digging into the Washington Nationals vs. Cleveland Guardians game stats lately. What a mess! I wanted to see how the players did, and let me tell you, it was a journey.
First, I tried to find a good summary of the game. There were a few games they played recently. I think one was on June 2nd, 2024, and another was on June 1st. Also May 31st and maybe April 16th. I was more interested in the June 2nd match, but had to browse a bunch of other dates.
Then I looked up some different websites for the stats. I just wanted a simple list of how each player did, you know? Like, who got hits, who struck out, that kind of stuff.
The June 2nd game was the one I really wanted. From the looks of it, it was a big deal, an “anticipated match” or something. I found a site that had a play-by-play and a box score for that one. Finally, some good info!
But then I got sidetracked. I found this other game where the Nationals beat the Guardians 7-6. That was from April, I think. Looked like a close one. And they played a ton of people, the stadium was pretty full, more than 21,000 people were there! The game lasted two and a half hours or something. I just glanced at it, wasn’t what I was really after.
Then I dug into the June 1st game. Guardians won that one, 3-2. Another tight game, and wow, almost 37,000 fans packed the house! Took them about 2 hours and 26 minutes to finish. I saw some guy, Ben Lively, won his fourth game in a row. That’s pretty cool. Also saw a Kyle Manzardo hit a two-run single. Seemed important.
I also bumped into some scores from May 31st, Nationals beat the Guardians 5-2. Some players named Joey Meneses and Jake Irvin did good in that one. Anyway, I just wanted the June 2nd game, so I went back to that.
It was a bit of a headache, honestly. All these different dates and scores. The information is scattered all over the place. It shouldn’t be this hard to find player stats.
What I learned:
- June 2nd: It was a big game.
- June 1st: Guardians won 3-2. Ben Lively is on a roll. Kyle Manzardo had a big hit.
- May 31st: Nationals won 5-2.
- April 16th: Nationals won 7-6.
- It’s a pain to find clear and simple stats.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure in baseball stats. I’m still trying to piece together exactly what happened in that June 2nd game, player by player. Wish me luck!
