Alright, alright, let me tell ya’ll somethin’ ’bout this tennis fella, this Alcaraz kid and his coach, that Ferrero fella. John McEnroe, that loudmouth, he’s been yappin’ again, sayin’ stuff ’bout how Ferrero coaches.
Now, I don’t know much ’bout tennis, ya know? I’m just a plain ol’ woman, but I seen enough to know when someone’s stirrin’ the pot. McEnroe, he’s always been one to talk, even back in his day. Always complainin’, always makin’ a fuss. He’s like that rooster down the road, always crowin’ ’bout somethin’.
So, what’s he sayin’ now? He’s pickin’ on Ferrero, sayin’ he don’t like how he’s coachin’ Alcaraz. Says somethin’ ’bout his approach, whatever that means. Listen, this Alcaraz kid, he’s a good player, real good. Won a bunch of those Grand Slam thingamajigs, they call ’em. And Ferrero, he’s been with him since the kid was just a sprout, 15 years old, they say. That’s a long time, you know? Like raisin’ a calf from a newborn.
- So, if the kid’s doin’ good, and he is doin’ good, then why’s McEnroe gotta open his yap?
- Seems to me like he’s just jealous, maybe wishin’ he had a player like Alcaraz.
- Or maybe he just likes to hear himself talk.
Now, Alcaraz, he spoke up, good for him. He said he needs what Ferrero tells him, needs “everything” that man says durin’ those matches. See? The kid trusts his coach, and that’s what matters. It’s like when you’re bakin’ a cake, you gotta listen to the recipe, right? Ferrero, he’s got the recipe for Alcaraz, and it seems to be workin’ just fine.
And get this, they’re even gettin’ another coach, some fella named Samuel Lopez. So now Alcaraz has got two fellas helpin’ him. Must be doin’ somethin’ right, huh? All these fancy coaches and big tournaments, it’s a whole different world than what I know. But even I can see that if somethin’ ain’t broke, don’t fix it. And Alcaraz ain’t broke, that’s for sure.
I heard tell that Alcaraz was havin’ some troubles lately, wasn’t doin’ so hot in some match. And folks were lookin’ at Ferrero, sayin’ he looked worried, sittin’ there with his hand on his cheek. Well, shoot, wouldn’t you be worried if your boy wasn’t doin’ well? That’s just natural. It don’t mean he’s a bad coach.
McEnroe needs to just hush up and let them be. He had his time, now it’s this Alcaraz kid’s time. And if Ferrero’s the one helpin’ him, then that’s that. It’s like my old man used to say, “If you ain’t got nothin’ nice to say, then don’t say nothin’ at all.” Maybe McEnroe shoulda listened to my old man.
Anyway, that’s just my two cents. Like I said, I ain’t no tennis expert, but I know a thing or two about people. And McEnroe, he’s just stirrin’ up trouble, like always. Alcaraz and Ferrero, they seem to be doin’ just fine without his input. So, let ’em be, I say. Let ’em play their tennis and win their trophies. And McEnroe, well, maybe he can go find himself a new hobby, somethin’ to keep him busy besides complainin’. Maybe he could take up knittin’ or somethin’. That might keep his hands busy and his mouth shut for a while.
This whole thing reminds me of the time when Mrs. Henderson down the street kept tellin’ everyone how to grow tomatoes, even though her own tomatoes always looked like shriveled up little things. Some folks just like to give their opinion, even when nobody asked for it.
