Alright, so I was messing around with Pokemon Showdown the other day, trying to build a decent team, and naturally, I wanted a Machamp on it. But not just any Machamp, the G-Max one. So, I dove into figuring out the best stats and all that jazz.

First things first, I started by looking up the base stats. You know, the basics. Machamp’s got that solid Attack, decent HP, and then some okay-ish defenses. Nothing crazy, but enough to work with. I jotted those down, making sure I wasn’t looking at some weird outdated source.
Next up, EVs. This is where things get interesting. I wanted Machamp to hit hard and also take a hit or two. So, I went with a classic spread: 252 Attack, 252 HP, and then 4 in Special Defense. Some might prefer Speed, but I figured with G-Max Chi Strike, that Attack boost would be more valuable in the long run. Plus, I planned to use it in Trick Room, so Speed was kinda irrelevant anyway.
Then came the nature. Adamant, without a doubt. Maximize that Attack, baby! I wasn’t worried about Special Attack, so sacrificing that was no biggie.
Now, the moveset. This took some thinking. Obviously, Dynamic Punch for that confusion chance. Then, I went with Close Combat for raw power when G-Max isn’t an option. Stone Edge for coverage against Flying types, those pesky things. And finally, Protect, because who doesn’t love a good Protect?
Item-wise, I was torn between Choice Band for even more Attack or Assault Vest for some extra bulk. Ultimately, I went with Assault Vest. I figured being able to survive a strong special attack would be more useful than just hitting harder, especially since G-Max Chi Strike already boosts Attack.

So, after all that tweaking and testing on Showdown, my G-Max Machamp looked something like this:
- Nature: Adamant
- EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
- Moves: Dynamic Punch, Close Combat, Stone Edge, Protect
- Item: Assault Vest
It wasn’t perfect, and I tweaked it a few more times based on how it performed in battles. Swapped Protect for Knock Off sometimes, depending on what my team needed. But overall, that’s how I approached figuring out the best stats for my G-Max Machamp. It’s all about finding what works for your specific team and play style.
