My Survivor Series Night
Alright, so let me tell you about that Survivor Series night. I was pretty much settled in, just chilling on my couch. Had some snacks, you know, the usual setup for watching a big show. The WarGames match was intense, really good stuff. I watched the whole thing, saw Cody and the guys get the win. Solid match.
Then the show felt like it was wrapping up. You know how it goes, they show the winners celebrating, the commentary team signs off, that kind of vibe. I was actually reaching for the remote, thinking about what to watch next or maybe just calling it a night. It was getting late.
Then It Happened
Suddenly, my screen flickered with that old static look. I kinda straightened up, thinking, “What’s this? Technical glitch?” Then, clear as day, I heard the opening riff. THAT riff. “Cult of Personality.”
I swear, I just froze for a second. Couldn’t believe my ears. Then Punk walks out. CM Punk. Right there on the ramp. The crowd on TV went absolutely insane, and honestly, so did I, right there in my living room. I think I actually yelled something like, “No way!” or maybe something less polite, ha!
It was just… wild. Completely out of the blue. Yeah, people talked about it online, rumors flew around like they always do. But seeing him actually walk out? Different story. Totally different.
I didn’t even touch the remote after that. Just sat there, watching him soak it all in. Watched him walk down, look around. It felt huge. You remember all the stuff that went down before he left, then the whole AEW saga. For him to be back right there, felt like a massive moment in wrestling history unfolding right before my eyes.
- Disbelief was the first thing.
- Then just pure shock.
- Followed by a weird kind of excitement.
Didn’t expect it at all. I mean, after everything, you just sort of assume some doors are closed for good. Guess not this one. Made the whole night unforgettable, way more than just the matches themselves. Just sat there for a bit after the show went off the air, thinking about how crazy that ending was. Crazy stuff.
