Okay, so I was trying to solve this crossword puzzle, you know, the one with the “the stuff of legends” clue. I’ve been staring at it all morning, I tell you.

First, I tried to just brainstorm. You know, sit back, relax, and let the ideas flow. I thought about famous legends, myths, stories… all that stuff.
My Brainstorming Process
- Greek Mythology: Gods, heroes, monsters. Nothing seemed to fit right away.
- Fairy Tales: Princes, princesses, magic. Still no luck.
- Folk Tales: Creatures and spirts…I felt I am not in the right direction.
Then I decided to get a little more methodical.I grabbed a pen and paper (yeah, I’m old school like that) and started listing out things associated with legends. Keywords.
I wrote down things like “epic,” “heroic,” “mythical,” “ancient,” “stories,” “tales”… I even doodled a little sword and a dragon, just for kicks. I’m not saying it helped, but it didn’t hurt.
I just stared and stared at that clue,I just couldn’t find the anwser.
Finally, I had an idea. “Lore”! This word seems right. So, I filled in “Lore” in the crossword and find it matches!

I have to say, I did * took a little bit of everything – brainstorming, word association. It’s amazing how the brain works, isn’t it?
