I tried out the new college football game today, it’s called “College Football 25”. Seems like they’re finally bringing it back after all these years. I was pretty pumped to see how it plays, especially with the touch pass mechanic.
First, I fired up the game and jumped straight into practice mode. I wanted to get a feel for the controls before anything else. Picked a team with a good quarterback, you know, someone who can really sling it.
Figuring Out the Touch Pass
- Started with the basic stuff, just regular passes. Felt pretty smooth, honestly.
- Then I tried the touch pass. It’s all about how long you hold down the button. Quick tap for a bullet, longer hold for a lob.
- At first, I was messing it up big time. Either I’d underthrow it and it would get picked off, or I’d overthrow it way downfield.
It took some time, but I slowly started to get the hang of it. You gotta find that sweet spot, that perfect timing depending on the route your receiver is running.
Putting It to the Test
After a while in practice, I felt confident enough to try a quick game. Picked a rivalry game, because why not, right?
- First few drives, I was mostly sticking to regular passes. Just wanted to move the chains.
- But then, I saw my chance. My receiver had a step on the corner, running a deep post.
- I wound up, held the button down just right, and let it fly.
- Touchdown!
Man, that felt good. It’s definitely a game-changer when you can pull it off. Opens up the whole field.
Still Learning
I still have a lot to learn with this touch pass thing. It’s not easy to master, but it’s super satisfying when you get it right. Gonna keep practicing, trying out different routes and timings.
Overall, I’m liking “College Football 25” so far. The touch pass adds a whole new layer to the passing game. It’s gonna be fun to see how people use it online.
