Well, you see, if you wanna play Gus in Brawl Stars and do it right, you gotta know how to set him up proper. Gus is a support character, but let me tell ya, he ain’t no pushover when it comes to dealin’ damage. He might not be the strongest fighter out there, but with the right build, you can turn him into a real powerhouse. Now, I’ll tell you ’bout the best way to set Gus up, and why certain gadgets and star powers work better than others. We ain’t gonna make it too fancy, just simple and to the point, like I like it.
First thing you need to know about Gus is that his Kooky Popper gadget is hands down the best one to use. Now, some folks might tell ya to go with the Soul Switcher gadget, but trust me, that ain’t the right choice. Kooky Popper is used by 87% of folks who know their stuff. What it does is, it lets Gus explode all them spirits he’s been summonin’ at once, and boy, when them spirits hit, they deal a solid 2240 damage to anyone nearby. That’s real good, especially if you got a bunch of enemies stacked up in a small area. I’ve seen that gadget wipe out a whole group before, and it’s a lifesaver when you need to clear out a space.
Next up, you gotta think about his Star Power. If you want Gus to really shine, you gotta use the Spirit Animal star power. What this does is, it gives your teammates a shield, which can be real helpful in a pinch. Gus isn’t the toughest brawler, so giving your mates a shield helps keep ‘em in the fight longer. You gotta make sure you’re using that to protect your heavy hitters or the ones who get into the thick of things. That way, Gus does his job best, playin’ a support role while still doin’ some damage on the side.
Now, onto the gears. You gotta set Gus up with the Shield Gear and Speed Gear. The Shield Gear helps Gus stay alive a little longer, and since he’s usually behind the front lines, you don’t want him goin’ down too quick. As for Speed Gear, well, you can never have enough speed when you’re tryin’ to get into position or escape a bad situation. You wanna be able to move around fast and support your team, right? That Speed Gear’s gonna help you do just that.
And listen here, one thing Gus is good at is that spirit attack. With the Spirit Animal star power and them ghosts floating around, he can deal a lot of damage or heal up teammates. I’ve seen him hit for over 3500 damage in one go if you got that Spirit Animal and good power-ups on him. And if you’re clever with your timing, you can even get multiple hits off and do a ton of damage with them spirits. Gus might not look like much, but with the right setup, he can really surprise people.
One thing I always tell folks is, Gus is an “offensive supporter.” He’s the type of brawler who’ll throw down some damage when he needs to, but mostly, he’s lookin’ out for his teammates. If you’ve got any assassin brawlers or tanks on your team, Gus is perfect for giving ‘em that shield and making sure they stay alive longer. He’s not like them big brawlers who just rush in and attack. Gus hangs back, helps out, and makes sure his team has the tools to win the fight.
Now, don’t go thinkin’ Gus is only good in team modes. He’s not too shabby in Solo Showdown either. I tried him out myself just the other day, and I was surprised how well he did. With that shield and them spirits, he can hold his own against a lot of the other brawlers. Sure, he ain’t gonna be toppin’ the charts every time, but he can still put up a good fight and win when it counts.
So, there ya have it. The best Gus build for Brawl Stars: Kooky Popper gadget, Spirit Animal star power, and the Shield and Speed gears. Use that setup, and I’m tellin’ ya, you’ll be helpin’ your team win fights and makin’ a real difference. Gus might not be the flashiest brawler out there, but he sure gets the job done when you know how to use him right. Get out there, and show ‘em what Gus can do!
