Alright, let’s yak about this Honkai: Star Rail thing, whatever that is. My grandson, that tech-savvy whippersnapper, keeps blabbering about it. Says it’s some kinda game, like them things he plays on his fancy phone all day long.
So, from what I gather, this game has these characters, right? Like little dolls or somethin’. And folks are always arguin’ about which one’s the best. Reminds me of them ladies at the market squabbling over the best tomatoes.
This here “usage rate” thing, sounds like they’re talkin’ about how often folks use each character. Like, which doll gets pulled out of the toy box the most. My grandson says this Ruan Mei lady, she’s real popular. Ninety-somethin’ percent! That’s like everyone in the village showing up to the bingo night. She must be a good’n, huh?
Then there’s this Dr. Ratio fellow. Sounds like a smarty-pants doctor from one of them soap operas on TV. My grandson says pretty near everyone who has him uses him. That’s like sayin’ if ya got a good shovel, ya gonna use it for diggin’, right? Makes sense to me.
And this Topaz gal, seems like more and more folks are starting to like her. It’s like when the new bakery opened up and everyone started goin’ there ’cause they heard the pies were good. Word gets around, ya know.
- Ruan Mei: Big shot, everyone uses her.
- Dr. Ratio: If you got him, you use him.
- Topaz: Getting more popular, like a good sale at the store.
They even got somethin’ they call “Pure Fiction,” sounds like a bunch of hogwash to me. But apparently, it’s where you really see which characters are the bee’s knees. My grandson gets all worked up about it, checkin’ the rates and whatnot. Like he’s checkin’ the weather before hangin’ out the laundry.
And wouldn’t ya know it, they even got a report card, an “annual report” they call it. Tells you which character you used the most. Like when the teacher used to tell your parents how often you talked in class. Cept this time, it’s about which doll you played with the most. They also tell you how much you played this game, like how much time you spent gossipin’ with the neighbors.
This whole thing sounds mighty complicated, all these numbers and rates. But I guess it’s like countin’ how many chickens ya got or figurin’ out how much flour ya need for a cake. Just a different way of keepin’ track of things.
So, what does it all mean? Well, I reckon it means some characters are better than others, or at least more popular. Like some folks like chocolate cake and some like vanilla. And it means folks are spendin’ a whole heap of time playin’ this game, fiddlin’ with these little dolls. As long as they ain’t causin’ trouble, I guess it’s alright. Keeps ’em busy, like knittin’ keeps me busy.
My grandson says they even update this usage rate thing, so it changes all the time. Like the price of eggs, up one week, down the next. You gotta keep up with it if you wanna be in the know, he says. Me? I’d rather keep up with the price of sugar, that’s more my speed.
Anyway, that’s the gist of it, as far as I can tell. This here Honkai: Star Rail, it’s a game with characters, and some get used more than others. And folks like to keep track of that, just like they like to keep track of everything else in life. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my stew. It’s been simmerin’ all day, and I don’t want it to burn. That’d be a real waste, unlike playin’ with these here dolls, I guess.
