Okay, so, today I tried to do this crossword, right? And the clue was just one word: “vigor.” I sat there for a bit, staring at it. My brain was going, “Vigor, vigor, what the heck does that even mean?”
First, I tried to remember, like, have I heard this word before? And yeah, I have, but it’s not a word I use every day. So I grabbed my phone and started searching. I typed in “vigor crossword clue” into the search bar, just to see what would pop up.
The first few results were kind of all over the place. Some suggested four-letter words, others suggested five. One result even mentioned South Dakota, leash, and pounds per square inch, which really threw me off. I mean, what do those things have to do with vigor?
Narrowing it down.
I kept scrolling, ignoring the weird stuff. Then I saw a pattern. A lot of the results were showing answers with three, four, or five letters. That was something I could work with. So, I started listing them out:
- Three letters: PEP, VIM.
- Four letters: ELAN.
- Five letters: VERVE, OOMPH.
Looking at those, I started to feel a bit better. “PEP” and “VIM” both seemed like they could fit. “ELAN” was a bit of a stretch, but I’ve seen weirder things in crosswords. “VERVE” and “OOMPH,” well, they kinda made sense too. The thing with crosswords was that one word had to fit with other words. I focused on the first letter of the other words the first letter I got was “P”, so the only word that can fit was “PEP”.
Finally got it!
And then the word was “PEP” because the other words were also matched together. I was so happy! Another crossword puzzle down. It felt pretty good to finally crack it. Even thought It took a little bit of work.
So, that’s my little adventure with the word “vigor” today. It just goes to show, even if you think you know a word, sometimes you gotta dig a little deeper to really get it. And don’t be afraid to use your resources. In this case, my phone searching helped me get the answer.
