Alright, let’s talk about what I did last night. I stayed up late to watch the WWE Backlash 2024. Yeah, I’m a big wrestling fan, always have been. So, I was super pumped for this event and I wanted to see how good the matches were. I always look at Dave Meltzer’s star ratings to see what he thinks cause he really knows his stuff.
First off, I grabbed my notebook and pen ’cause I like to jot down my thoughts during the matches. I made myself some popcorn, got a cold drink, and settled into my favorite spot on the couch. The show started, and I was hooked from the first match.
I saw people on the internet saying that some matches, like Roman vs. Sami and Roman vs. Cody, were 5-star matches. To be honest, I got really into those. I mean, the crowd was insane, and the energy was just wild. If you were there, you’d know what I’m talking about.
Here’s what I wrote down during the event:
- Match 1: Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga vs. Randy Orton and Kevin Owens. This was a street fight, and man, it was brutal. Meltzer gave it 4.75 stars. I kinda agree, it was pretty awesome.
The Process
I watched each match, paying attention to the moves, the crowd, and the overall story. After each match, I wrote down my own rating and some notes. I tried to be like Meltzer, you know, thinking about what makes a match great.
When the event ended, I went online to see Meltzer’s ratings. I found out that he rated the street fight between Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga vs. Randy Orton and Kevin Owens 3/4 stars. That’s almost 5 stars! I thought to myself, “Yeah, that’s about right. It was a killer match.”
Some folks online were saying that if crowd reaction matters, then some matches should be 9 stars or more. I laughed at that. It’s all about opinions, right? I also saw some people saying stuff about Justin Hartley’s drama and TV ratings, but I was more interested in the wrestling.
Wrapping Up
So, that was my night. I watched Backlash 2024, jotted down my ratings, and then checked out Meltzer’s ratings. It was a fun night, and I enjoyed seeing some great wrestling. I always like comparing my thoughts with Meltzer’s. He’s the expert, but it’s cool to see if I’m on the same page as him.
