Okay, so the other day, I got this idea stuck in my head. I wanted to find a good picture of Kirk Ferentz with his whole family. You know, the coach from Iowa. Seemed simple enough, right?
Starting the Search
First thing I did, like anyone else, was just hop on the computer and start searching. Typed in the usual stuff – “Kirk Ferentz family photo”, “Kirk Ferentz wife kids picture”, things like that. You get a ton of results, sure, but mostly it’s just him. On the field, press conferences, you know the drill. Sometimes maybe a picture with his wife, Mary, or one of his kids, especially Brian since he’s coaching too.
Digging a Little Deeper
But finding one with everyone together? That was proving tougher than I thought. I figured maybe they keep that stuff pretty private, which I get. Still, I was curious. So, I started thinking, where else could I look? Maybe the official Iowa Hawkeyes athletics page? Or perhaps old newspaper articles from around Iowa City or Des Moines? That seemed like a decent plan.
Spent a while clicking through archives. Tried searching for articles around holidays or maybe special university events. Found lots of articles mentioning the family, but actual photos were scarce. It’s mostly about the football, which makes sense.
The Outcome
After a fair bit of poking around, scrolling through image results tied to specific news stories or features, I finally landed on one. It wasn’t the newest picture, looked a few years old maybe, and not the highest resolution either. But there they were, looked like the whole bunch. Success, sort of!
It wasn’t like finding some hidden treasure, but it took more effort than I expected. Just goes to show, even with famous folks, some things aren’t just plastered all over the internet. Anyway, mission accomplished for my little search quest. Felt good to finally track one down.
