Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this Zhang Eubanks prediction thing. It all started when I was just browsing around, looking for something new to sink my teeth into. You know how it is, you get that itch for a new project.
Got My Hands Dirty
First, I dug up everything I could find on both Zhang and Eubanks. I mean everything. Past matches, playing styles, interviews, the whole nine yards. It was a bit of a data overload at first, I won’t lie.
Then came the fun part – well, fun for a data nerd like me. I started pulling all this info into a spreadsheet. Yeah, a good old spreadsheet. I was tracking wins, losses, surface types, you name it. I even started looking at things like how they performed under pressure, which was kind of a headache to quantify, but I managed.
Building the Thing
Next up, I decided to put together a simple prediction model. Nothing too fancy, just something that could take all that data and spit out a probability for who would win a hypothetical match. I played around with a few different methods, and some were better than others, I got to tell you. They didn’t even do a thing to analyze what I found.
Once I had something that seemed halfway decent, I started running simulations. Lots and lots of simulations. It was like watching a virtual tennis match play out a thousand times over, each time with slightly different variables. I tweaked the model based on the results, trying to get it more and more accurate. It was a grind, but a satisfying one.
The Results
Finally, I had something I felt was presentable. My model was giving me some pretty interesting predictions, and I was pumped to share them. It wasn’t perfect, of course, but it was my little creation, and it was doing a decent job.
So there you have it. That’s the story of how I dove into this whole Zhang Eubanks prediction thing. It was a wild ride, full of data, spreadsheets, and a whole lot of trial and error. But hey, that’s what makes it fun, right? It’s all about the process, the learning, and the satisfaction of building something from scratch.
- Spent hours gathering data.
- Wrestled with spreadsheets like a champ.
- Built a prediction model that didn’t suck.
- Ran simulations until my eyes bled.
- Ended up with something pretty cool (I think).
Hope you enjoyed this little journey. Stay tuned for more of my random projects and data adventures.
